Challenged Athletes Foundation
Join me in racing for a reason!
The Gasparilla Distance Classic is coming up and I'm excited about participating as usual! But this year, I wanted to do something different and I hope you can help.
Gasparilla Distance Classic is teaming up with the Florida Chapter of the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) to bring back the competitive Wheelchair Division in the 15K and help raise funds through Gasparilla.
By donating to my fundraising effort or joining TEAM CAF Gasparilla 2008 yourself, you will help provide prosthetics, wheelchairs, and other equipment that's necessary for disabled and challenged adults and children to participate in sporting events.
Every time I run any race, I will admit that I'm looking to get a new personal record or perhaps even do well enough in my division so I can get a trophy. As I learn more about challenged athletes - their drive and courage - I realize that there are much greater achievements in life and even getting across the finish line shouldn't be taken for granted.
